The Social League kicked off the 2013 season on the 13th February. This year we are awarding order of merit points to players who consistently compete in the Social League @ CITYGOLF. After much internal debate, it has been decided that the points will be allocated “individually” meaning that if your partner abandons you half way through the league you can continue with another partner and retain the points that you had earned up to then. Make sense? Good!
We teed it up on the Back 9 of Hawaii’s HAPUNA Golf Course. Luckily the wind wasn’t blowing. If it had been, we would have been in some serious trouble. I remind all those that played that the course was not my choice. For this we can than our good friend Des! All hate mail to him please.
Unfortunately only 5 teams managed to tee it up due to CNY celebrations last week. Prizes were awarded to 1st and 2nd place winners. In second place on +7 were our ever faithful Jim and Jose. They nudged out a couple of our new members who were left stranded on +8. The eventual winners (Sharad and myself) demolished the field with a pretty decent score of 3 under par. Sharad is also a new member, and I have been working extremely hard on his game. He struck the ball like a genius, and we managed to score well on the holes when it counted. Only 1 bogie on the scorecard on a pretty tough golf course was very satisfactory! Well played partner!
Make sure you get your names down for the next Social on the 13th March. See you there!
