Climbing Mountains for Charity @ CG

On Monday the 9th July, we had the privilege of meeting a very interesting KIWI by the name of Grant Rawlinson. Grant has just completed the summit of Mount Everest, and he was kind enough to come and share his incredible story with us all in the name of charity.

His story captivated the audience from start to finish. The dedication that goes into a climb like Everest is hard to believe. From the fitness regime to survive the climb up, to the gut wrenching descent down the beast.

This was Grant’s second attempt to summit Everest due to a bout with Pulmonary Edema the first time round. Just to have a second crack at the mountain after going through the stress of Pulmonary Edema is amazing, but then to summit just one year after the fact is amazing.

Everyone who attended the evening thoroughly enjoyed the evening, and we hope to see Grant through our doors on his next visit to KL.

All proceeds raised were donated to The Taranaki Rescue Helicopter Trust. Thanks to all who attended and donated to this very worthy cause.
